To protect inadvertent changes to prior tax year data, it would be nice to be able to "lock" a prior tax year's transactions from being modified and then unlock if needed.

We have now added a transaction lock feature to the settings page.

Note that this feature only locks the transaction history. It does not lock the results of the tax calculations and does not allow you to use different settings for different tax years. This will be a separate feature that is being worked on. This is a must have to protect data integrity and allow for changes in cost basis methods year to year. Just transitioning to Koinly and finding this may be a deal breaker.

Fantastic Caterpillar: I totally agree. I've been a paying customer for a while now and am disappointed this feature hasn't been implemented yet. It's vital for tax software. I don't understand why Koinly won't put this feature in the priority list and make it available for paying customers only. This would compel more people to purchase a plan, imo.

anyone know how to prevent changes from prior tax years, before this feature may get implemented? i'm wary of doing anything on koinly before this happens!

Currently, there isn't... I feel this should be a high priority as inadvertent modifications of prior tax year info could have disastrous outcomes.

Remove and/or "freeze" the transactions from past years when done filing the taxes for that year

Enable a "freezing" feature. E.g that we can freeze certain wallets no longer in use and unaffected by future changes.

Another way to implement this would be to allow the user to save / snapshot the state of a portfolio and to be able to view these snapshots.

I would love this. I've got a messy collection of CBpro portfolios which I created when I was learning in the early days. Most are unused now, but I assume Koinly needs them for working out UK pooling for all my subsequent transactions.

It would be great to be able to delete them from CBpro without affecting the tax calcs.
