Settings - Cost basis choices for each tax year

It would be great if cost basis choices could be updated/changed for different years. This would enable users to follow changes in legislation without updating the treatments of all previous years.

To be more specific, I selected Realize gains on liquidity transactions as No in 2021, but now Revenue clarified that it should be yes. If I change it now, it will update previous years numbers too. I would either need a way to freeze previous years, or the possibility to update the cost basis from a specific date.
