Additionally, adding basic support for TAO is the easy/less helpful part. We can probably find a way to import or manually add the basic transactions ourselves. Of course that's where support for TAO needs to start, but there are also 2 hard parts where full Koinly import automation is critically needed. That is 1) staking and 2) dTAO.

1) Staking

Staking is very difficult to do manually correctly in the U.S. where the staking rewards have been "earned", and already need to be reported, as soon as you can unstake them, even if you haven't. Koinly needs to import each of these earned rewards for us somehow.

2) dTAO

Now each subnet has its own token. You can trade TAO for these tokens. There are 2 basic ways to do this: Through a dapp/DEX or by staking with that subnet. When you stake on a subnet other than 0, what really happens is you trade all your TAO for the token of that subnet. Then all of those tokens get staked and start earning staking rewards in that token. Then when you eventually unstake, it unstakes that token and trades all of those tokens back into TAO again for you. You could end up with either more TAO or less TAO than you started with, because you didn't actually stake TAO, you did a complex process of trading and staking a different token and then trading it back to TAO at the end.

You'll likely need to get a pro subscription from taostats in order to pull this data, not really seeing other options for tax requirement deadlines - $200 p/m (pay then cancel) :(

Does anyone know a way we can get a balances CSV output before tax time? while we are still waiting for this - taostats is now behind an API payment setup I think and I can't find a way to get a daily tao reward/change in balance
