Can't select ordinal NFT when searching by SYMBOL #ID

When trying to select an NFT (be it in the search bar or when adding it manually) I cannot search for the NFT using

SYMBOL #ID

notation - nothing comes up

I can only search for it using

SYMBOL #Inscription_ID

notation but the inscription ID is very long so it's inconvenient
